Help Burmese IBSC Student's Family and Alumni - Major Earthquake Crisis in Myanmar

Writer: IBSC ChannelIBSC Channel

This morning at 8:30 AM, as Acting Director of IBSC, I called an emergency meeting with faculty and students of the Buddhist College at MCU to pray together, spread loving-kindness, and assess the damage situation caused by the major earthquake in Myanmar.

Burmese students reported that initially, some were unable to contact their families. Some had homes collapsed or severely damaged. Many parents, siblings, and relatives have lost their lives. Several temples have been destroyed, with monks and novices deceased.

Everyone spoke with one voice - they are all in a difficult situation and need immediate assistance, especially drinking water and food.

We have mobilized students to make initial donations totaling 100,000 Baht to provide drinking water and food for those currently in hardship. Additionally, we are raising funds from various sectors to continue humanitarian assistance.
