International Joint Class on: Theory and Practice of Mindfulness Meditation by Ven. Prof. Dr. Phrakrupalad Pannavorawat (Hansa Dhammahaso) Director of International Buddhist Studies College, Mahachulalongkornrajavidayalaya University and Prof. Dr. Hwang Soonil, Dean of College of Buddhism, Dongkuk University, Korea.

This International Joint Class aims to comparison study the universality and uniqueness of Theravada Buddhism and Korean Buddhism by identifying recent research trends and perspectives on mindfulness as well as expanding on the understanding of Buddhism in Southeast Asia.

Under the common theme of "mind", the joint class practice could compare the traditions and trends of Vipassana and the mindfulness practices of Buddhism in Southeast Asia (focusing on Thailand) as well as Gwanbeop (觀法) practice of East Asian Buddhism (focusing on Korea). Moreover, the role and utilization of these practices in modern society will be explored.
