The 4th Buddhist Forum of Exchange Between Theravada and Mahayana was a significant collaboration between several esteemed institutions—specifically, the International Buddhist Studies College (IBSC), MCU (Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University), and Buddhism Fujian College of the People's Republic of China.
The forum was inaugurated by Most Venerable Phra Dhamvajarapundit, the Director of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. The opening ceremony was led by Most Ven. Benxing, who holds positions as the Deputy Director of the Overseas Exchange Committee of Buddhist Association of China, Executive Vice President of Fujian Buddhist Association, Rector of Buddhist Academy of Fujian, and Abbot of Taiyuan Temple Fuzhou and Guanghua Temple in Fujian Province, China. He headed a delegation of Buddhist scholars presenting academic works from IBSC.
During the event, Most Ven. Benxing, along with Most Ven. Phra Medhivajarapundit, inaugurated the Thai-Chinese Buddhist Studies Centre. Situated on the 3rd floor of the Buddhaghosacariya Building, this center aims to serve as a research hub for canonical studies, facilitating collaboration between Thai and Chinese students studying at IBSC.
Beyond academic pursuits, it seeks to establish a sustainable network for cultural and academic exchange, contributing to the propagation of Buddhist teachings while addressing contemporary global challenges in the digital age.
